Chemically, EVA is Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate, an elastic co-polymer similar to rubber. There is no chlorine, sulfur or phthalates used in its production, is considered environmentally friendly and recyclable. EVA is a closed-cell foam, which RDI forms into our footwear using a process called expansion molding, where the expanding raw material traps pockets of air in various densities to achieve the characteristics desired. RDI’s EVA is completely waterproof, is soft and a flexible and will not harden or crack. Our process provides EVA footwear that shock absorbing, lightweight, easy to clean, and thermally insulating and extremely durable.
